Career: Florian Berrenberg discovered his passion for American football in 1980 through a magazine article and subsequently began playing the sport himself. He played as a quarterback for the Munich Cowboys and Munich Rangers. In 1995 and 1996, he was part of the coaching staff of Frankfurt Galaxy in the World League of American Football, where he coached the defensive backs and won the World Bowl in 1995. After moving to the Hamburg Blue Devils, he became their head coach in 2000.
National Team: In 2003, Berrenberg served as the defensive coordinator for the German national team and helped them win the bronze medal at the World Championship. In 2023, he took on the role of head coach of the German flag football national team and led the team to victory at the European Championship in Limerick, Ireland.
Coaching Career: Berrenberg has coached numerous teams, including the Bavarian football youth selection, the Franken Knights, and the Kirchdorf Wildcats, with whom he achieved promotion to the GFL in 2017. He also worked with the Munich Cowboys, although his tenure there ended before the start of the 2005 season.
